Concern over potential contagions has soared due to the recent cases of Avian Flu and increasing reports of business closures caused by E. coli, Salmonella, or Legionnaires' disease in the United States. Every business is vulnerable to closure including virtually every policy holder you have. Markel Southwest Underwriters, Inc. (MSU) now has a solution with our new Outbreak Extra Expense Coverage.
Outbreak Extra Expense Coverage is designed to provide businesses with extra expense coverage in the event that their business operations are suspended by a public health official due to a covered contagion originating at or emanating from their operational premises. The new coverage targets MSU’s existing contract and brokerage accounts and will be available to a wide variety of industry groups.
- All business is submit. A completed Outbreak Extra Expense Coverage Application is required.
- $1,500 Policy MP, $750 Location MP.
- Coverage can be packaged or written monoline.
- Minimum coverage is $5,000/day for 30 days. Limits can be increased by increments of $2,500.
- $50,000/day is the maximum daily limit available.
- Terrorism coverage will not be offered at this time.
